Frequently Asked Questions
What benefits does massage have?
Physically massage can effect the nervous and muscular systems, and the local and general circulation of the blood and lymph and offer relief from pain, improve posture...and so the list goes on. Emotionally it can offer relief from pain, boost energy, restore good spirits and release tension and anxiety.
How Often do I need Treatment?
This can vary greatly, however, like most natural therapies; Massage has a cumulative effect; meaning that when you have regular sessions, one or two weeks apart, you will notice more benefits each time. Your body ‘remembers’ how good it felt after the previous session, and automatically starts to release tension the moment you get on the couch.
I have a Medical Condition, can I still recieve treatment?
There are some contra-indications to massage, both locally and generally. We will run through these in your first session, however you may want to check with your GP and for any more serious conditions, I may require a doctors note. Please feel to contact me if you are unsure.
What age can I start massaging my baby?
As soon as you are allowed to take baby home from the hospital, they can receive massage. In fact massage is particularly helpful for babies born prematurely as it can help stimulate growth within all the bodily systems.
